She was predeceased by: her father Victor Alvin Hoyle; her husband Marshall Ray Black; and her siblings, Eugene Hoyle, Gerald Hoyle, Donald Harold Hoyle, Edythe Hoyle Irvine and Judith Hoyle Whitaker.
She is survived by: her son John David Black (Jane) of Lenoir; and her granddaughter Melissa Black of Granite Falls. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
