She was predeceased by: her father Lawrence Carson; and her husband Raymond Clayton Lester, Sr.. She is survived by: her mother Myrtle Carson; her children, Tammy Thompson of Albemarle, NC, Renee Lester of Murfreesboro, TN and Raymond Clayton Lester, Jr. of Manchester, TN; her siblings, Norman "Buddy" Carson (Gloria) of Hickory, Paul Carson (Judy) of Granite Falls, Loretta Welborn of Granite Falls, Mary Suddreth of Granite Falls, Nyoka Triplett (Bud) of Granite Falls, Robin Lambert of Granite Falls and Gwen Shrum (Dan) of Hickory; and her grandchildren, Chavis, Dustin, Hanna Thompson, Shelby and Sarah Lester. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
