He was predeceased by: his father William Franklin Benge; and his siblings, Ernest Benge, Claude Benge, Vernon Benge, Harley Benge, Donnie Benge and Nettie Walker.

He is survived by: his daughters, Dawn Benge Holbrook and Marsha Lynn Benge of Happy Valley; and his sisters, Arlene Foster of Wilkesboro, Pauline Hood of Lenoir and Maggie Nichols of Lenoir.
