He was predeceased by: his parents, James Herman Pearson and Mary Lois Coffey McCroskey; and his daughters, Tammy and Lisa Coffey. He is survived by: his wife Shelby Coffey; and his children, Michelle C. Lucas (Pedro) of Blowing Rock, Sammy Coffey (Carolyn) of Coco Beach, Jody Coffey (Misti) of Deep Gap, Michael Coffey (Janet) of Blowing Rock and Danny Coffey (Lisa) of Maiden. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 7 sisters, 4 brothers, and a number of nieces and nephews.
