He is survived by: his daughters, Shannon Smart (Granite Falls), Meloney Smith (Kenneth) of Hickory, Deon Smart of Granite Falls, Amy Smart (Willie Hare) of Granite Falls, Brandy Shronce (Michael Puma) of Granite Falls, Jennifer Smart of Granite Falls and Tammy Ward (Matt) of Granite Falls; his grandchildren, Erica, Austin Spears, Emily Robinson, Camp Shronce, Gunnar Puma, Tyler Goins, Destiny Hare, Ava, Angel Alvarez, Zaylee, Braelyn, Mary Ann Ward, Adam Summerlin, Madison Smart and Courtney Foster; his great grandchildren, Piper, Gage, Lucca and Chavis; and his siblings, Mike Smart of Newton, NC, Forest Smart of Granite Falls, Beverly Flemings of Granite Falls and Gail Stout of Hudson.
