He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Fairchild and Katherine Brown Silver. He is survived by: his daughters, Vickie Baird (Chris) of Morganton, Elisa Fairchild of Lincolnton, April Fairchild Palafox of Hickory, Carrie Fairchild of Taylorsville and Sherry Fairchild of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Amanda Davenport, Zack Baird, Danielle Baird, Amber Fairchild, Doug Proctor, Brittany Proctor, Gage Hoyle and Isabella Palafox; and his sister Bonzetta "Buzzy" Winkler of Hickory. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
