He was predeceased by: his parents, Lenoir Pete Yount and Irene Starnes Yount; and his son Richard "Wormy" Yount. He is survived by: his children, Wayne Yount (Gina) of Granite Falls, Jeff Yount (Brooke) of Granite Falls and Kimberly Jane Craig (David) of Granite Falls; his grandchildren, Joshua Yount, Chelbe McCrary, Kaleigh Yount, Trey Miller, Chris Craig and Robert Seeds; and his siblings, Linda Thornburg of Hickory, Penny Cogdell of Hudson, Wes Yount of Taylorsville, Jimbo Yount of Granite Falls and Reggie Yount of Granite Falls. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
