He is survived by: his wife Tonya Tanner; his mother Judith Radebach; his children, Jake Nelson (Alyssa), Megan Byrd (Nathan) and Taylor Tanner (Kaityln Thompson); his siblings, Steve Tanner, Phillip Tanner, Jimmy Tanner, Sharon Tanner, Karen Nagy (Jamie) and Bobbie Tanner; his sisters-in-law, Wendy Greene (Brian) and Shanda Lingerfelt (Shawn); his grandchildren, Charlotte Byrd, J. W. Nelson and Annabelle Nelson; his nephew Adam Bryant (Ana); and also Eliana Bryant.
A memorial service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church (3580 Playmore Beach Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645).
