He is survived by: his wife Audrey Hall Lyda; his siblings, Janice Lyda Martin, Lisa Lyda Triplett, Sharon Winebarger, Rick Lyda and Randy Garland; his children, Katherine Hedrick, Cary R. A. Lyda, Lentz J. Lyda and Theresa Carpenter; and his siblings, Tammy Garland, Rita Miller, Robert Foster and J. D. Lyda. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
