He was predeceased by: his mother Helen Stroud Carter. He is survived by: his children, Dr. Lawrence S. Carter Jr. (Brandy Foster), Thomas Franklin (Ally) and Corrine Carter; his wife Patty T Earle; his stepchildren, Claudia, Lynn and Alison Arriaga; his grandchildren, Hannah Carter, Austin Carter, Ashleigh Dick, Jaime Povrik, Taunya Smith, Samantha Storch and Dawn Cherami; and his friend Cristina Suarez. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Dr. Lawrence S. Carter Jr. requests contributions be made to the Southern Medical Association (SMA) Legacy Scholarship fund in his father's name.
