With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lana Watson Roland of Granite Falls, North Carolina, who passed away on December 25, 2022 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Clarence Watson; her husband Max Parker Roland; her daughter Cheryl Diane Roland; and her siblings, Richard, Barry, Wallace, Mary, Betty, Allene, Arlene and Miladeen.

She is survived by: her siblings, Ed Watson (Eunice) and Reba Watson; her sons, Jeff Roland (Melanie), Mark Roland (Tammy) and Phillip Roland (Beth); her granddaughters, Lindsay Thompson (Charles), Lauren Roland, Sydney Gilliam (Tim) and Avery Roland; and her great grandchildren, Morgan Thompson, Cadence Thompson and Elouise Gilliam.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to New Vision Baptist Fellowship, 4858 Grace Chapel Road, Granite Falls, NC 28630.

“I went to church at New Vision from 2004-2011 with Lana and she was a super special woman and dear friend. My husband passed in 2012 with cancer and she was so very good to us both during a very difficult time. After he passed she gave me a little plaque one Sunday and told me it reminded her of my husband. She was always helping someone. You were blessed to have her in your family. God bless and comfort you! Pray you get this message.”
