It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathie Long Goodrum of Granite Falls, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Long and Gladys Franklin Paige; and her siblings, Norma Deal and Edward Long. She is survived by: her husband Layne Goodrum; her children, Dena Strickler (Raymond), Leslie Burns (Scott), Jessie Cole and Jordan Goodrum; her grandchildren, Brianna Barnett, Kelsey Conner, Abigail Burns, Ethan Clanton, McKenzie Smith, Andrew Burns, Elizabeth Burns, Blaze Strickler, Cam Cole, Jackson Cole, Cooper Cole and Max Goodrum; her great grandchildren, Oliver Essary, Aubrey Essary, Kaia Strickler and Ayden Burns; her sisters, Lynn Deal and Gail Hackney; her nieces and nephews, Mandy, Beth, Matt, Chris, Josh, Natalie and Nicole; her friends, Ron, Cathy and Norma; and her pet Patches.
