It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Junior Thomas Duffey of Granite Falls, North Carolina, who passed away on August 29, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Nelson Duffey and Pearlee Keller Duffey; his former wife Mary Katherine Blackwelder; his wife Betty Hedrick Duffey; his son Mark Wayne Duffey; and his siblings, Melvin Duffey, Paul Duffey, Rick Duffey, Nancy Story and Naomi Burns.
He is survived by: his sons, Thomas James Duffey of Bethlehem, Ronald Allen Duffey (Rebecca) of Maiden, Phillip Ray Duffey (Connie) of Clayton and Larry Stephen Duffey (Virginia) of Granite Falls; and his grandchildren, Esther Clement (Alan), Gideon Duffey, Brian Duffey, Robin Voisin (Paul) and Rhonda Reid. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
