With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Johnny Lawson (Granite Falls, North Carolina), born in Gainesville, Georgia, who passed away on August 12, 2022 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Pierce and Cleo Goswick Lawson; and his brother Bobby Lawson of Brevard, NC.. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Scott Lawson; his brother Bradley Lawson (Barbara) of Gainsville, GA; his children, Scott Lawson of Hampstead, Mark Lawson of Wilmington and Heather Lawson of Greensboro; his stepchildren, Christy Pennell of Hickory and Matthew Pennell (Beth) of Hickory; his grandchildren, Smith McLean, Karma Lawson of Asheville, Forrest Lawson of Wilmington, Lola McLean of Greensboro and Katelyn Pennell of Hickory; and his pet Sissy.
