He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse T. Haney and Demmie Price Haney; his son John T. Haney, Jr.; and his siblings, Helen Haney Shipman, Barbara Haney Erwin, Claire Haney Trantham and Roy Lee Haney.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Charlene Tibbet Haney; his daughter Demmie Haney Richardson of Vallejo, California; and his niece Tammy Simmons.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully that memorials be made to Amorem Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir in Mr. Haney's memory.
