He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Starnes and Edith Sims Starnes; and his grandson Ray Starnes. He is survived by: his wife Wava Ann Hubbard Starnes; his children, Gina Starnes, Jimmy Starnes (Megan) of Granite Falls and Todd Starnes (Holly) of Granite Falls; his brothers, Jerry Richard Starnes of Granite Falls and Larry "Dude" Starnes (Fran) of Granite Falls; and his grandchildren, Emmelin Starnes, Gavin Starnes and Easton Starnes.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Dudley Shoals Baptist Church Building Fund at 1880 Dudley Shoals Rd. Granite Falls, NC 28639.
