She was predeceased by: her husband James R. Boles; her siblings, Jeanette Marshall Good, Rachel Starnes, Betty Jo Blackburn, Mary Chappell, Benton, James and Elec Marshall; and her siblings-in-law, Phillip Berrier and Betty Marshall.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Dale Boles (Paula) of Granite Falls, NC and Teresa Boles Costner (Steve) of Hickory, NC; her siblings, Ruth Whitaker of Hudson, Edna Shelton (John) of Radford, VA, Joyce Berrier of Flower Gap, VA and Fred Marshall of Mt. Airy, NC; and her grandchildren, Cody Costner Lipson (Eric), Bradley Boles (Hailey), Cameran Boles (Laura) and Carley Costner-Farmer (Ethan). She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home - Jack Bass Memorial Building (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601).
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
