He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thomas Lowery and Hallie Ballou Lowery; his brother-in-law Warner Lee Hudson, Sr.; and his nephew Warner "Buddy" Hudson, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Leslie Isidore Lowery of Granite Falls, NC; his children, Sherri Lowery, Samantha Lowery, Alisia Lowery Sheldon of Virginia and James Thomas "Tommy" Lowery of Florida; his stepson Legendre Herrera (Brianna) of Newton, NC; his sister Jean Hudson; his grandchildren, Abigail Sheldon and Nayeh Lowery; his stepgrandchildren, Andrew Aiden Peele and Parker Isaac Herrera; and his nieces and nephews, David Hudson (Diane), Elizabeth "Beth" Draughan and Lou Ellen McGregor.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at 1462 Armstrong Ford Rd, Belmont, NC 28012.
