He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Loven Lewis and Elizabeth Coker Lewis; his father-in-law John Fields; and his sister Jane Setzer. He is survived by: his wife Harriet Fields Lewis; his children, William Ray Lewis (Cari) of Raleigh, Penny Lewis Lail (Mike) of Maiden, Lori Lewis Oliver of Conover and Amanda Lewis of Washington, D. C.; and his siblings, James Lewis of Conover, Pat Lewis of Hickory, Ann Moore of Hickory and Edna Dennie of Bethlehem.
