It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charlene Mundy Townsend of Granite Falls, North Carolina, who passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Mundy and Eunice Bentley Mundy; her husband Jack Townsend; and her siblings, J. C. Mundy, Mary Herman, Shirley Reid and Evelyn Hines.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Wilson (Gwyn) of Hickory, Kim Bumgarner (Warren) of Woolwine, VA and Tammy Townsend of Granite Falls; her grandchildren, Ryan Wilson (Jessica), Christen Wilson (Will), Zachary Dillard, Addie Bumgarner and Evan Bumgarner; and her great grandchildren, Chandon Wilson, Breeley Wilson and Paisley Dillard.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Temple Baptist Church (1306 Old North Rd NW, Lenoir, NC 28645).
