He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Margaret Alene Smith Lovins and Fritz Lovins, Sr.; his siblings, Paul Lovins, Ed Lovins, Fritz Lovins, Jr., Mike Lovins and Carolyn Younce; his wife Joyce Elaine Winebarger Lovins; his sons, Carl Samuel Lovins, Jr. (Pat) of Lenoir, Keith Alan Lovins (Sherry) of Lenoir and Darren Brian Lovins (Theresa) of Granite Falls; his brothers, Russel James "RJ" Lovins (Janice) of Lenoir and Gary Lovins (Debbie) of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Alisha Smith, Ashley Bolick (David), Brandon Lovins (Casey) and Kelly Barker (Kevin); his stepgrandchildren, Tiffany Kilgore, Catina Anderson, Jamie Winebarger and Ryan Lovins; his great grandchildren, Zaylin, Kiera, Elizabeth, Chelsea, Chase, Lyla, Amelia, Ava, Kieran, Madalyn, Rylee and Emma; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Haleigh and MacKenzie. He was also cherished by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
