He was predeceased by: his parents, Cloyd Woodrow and Mary Pennell Fox. He is survived by: his son Shane Fox (Jennifer) of Blowing Rock; his grandchildren, Ryan, Caroline and Owen Fox of Blowing Rock; his siblings, James Fox (Barbara) of Granite Falls, Peggy Burns of Granite Falls, Greg Fox (Patricia) of Lenoir and Denise Lackey (Clyde) of Lenoir; and his nieces and nephews, Grecia Barlowe, Jamie Fox, Wayne Burns, Carrie Jenkins, Holly Smith and Justin Fox.
