She was predeceased by: her husband Eddie "EJ" Hawley; her parents, James Mayes and Mary Etta Bush Mayes; her siblings, Junior Mayes, Bill Mayes, Johnny Mayes, Joe Mayes, Fred Mayes and Virginia Mayes Beaver; her daughter Tammy Bordeaux of Wendell, NC; and her daughter-in-law Lois Russell.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Dawson of Granite Falls, Vicky Mize of Granite Falls, Wayne Hawley (Kelly) of Wendell and Duane Russell of Granite Falls; her grandchildren, Angel Walston, Tiffany Ezzell, Marshall Hawley, Justin Bordeaux, Chris Russell and Josey McCormick; her sister Barbara Mullinax of Blacksburg, SC; and her sisters-in-law, Brenda Mayes of Lincolnton and Betty Thomas of Grover, NC..
