She was predeceased by: her parents, Porter Burns and Bess Yount Burns; and her siblings, Albert Hugh "Rusty" Burns, William Dean Burns and Margaret Burns.
She is survived by: her brother James P. Burns, Jr.; her nieces, Elizabeth Burns Carswell of Granite Falls, Suzanne Burns Barlow of Granite Falls and Patty Burns Price of Granite Falls; and her sister-in-law Dr. Caryl Burns of Granite Falls.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 4948 Burns Rd., Granite Falls, NC 28630.
