He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Foster and Bertie Hefner Foster. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Foster; his sons, Jeffrey (Lorena) of Granite Falls and Wesley Foster of Granite Falls; his granddaughter Myra Foster; his great grandchildren, Olivia and Elijah; and his sisters, Audrey Bost (Bill) of Rutherford College and Elreta Harris Bentley (Danny) of Hudson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
