He was predeceased by: his father Beamer Wood; his wife Ella Gaye Culler Wood; his son Rick Wood; and his siblings, Richard Wood, Tom Wood and Patsy White.
He is survived by: his children, James Wood of Hudson, Frankie Kirk of Newton, Angel Pickard (Tom) of Pelion, SC and Selena McDonald of Hickory; his siblings, Mabel Brown (Carl), Rosa Myers, Vickie Bradshaw and Gene Wood; and his caregivers, Joshua Albert Wood, Janet "Dolly" Sprinkle, Ann Bailey and Barbara Clark. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
