He is survived by: his children, Patricia Penley (Ray) of Concord, NC, Kathleen Chiarello (Anthony), Michael Dougherty of Raleigh, NC, Kevin Dougherty of Port St and James Dougherty (Amy) of Kitty Hawk, NC; his grandchildren, Michael, Kelly and Hayden Dougherty; his great grandchild Eva L. Williams; his sister Marge Phelan (Ed) of Colonie, NY; his niece Liz McCutcheon; and his nephews, Jim Phelan and Ed Phelan.
