It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Rivers Norwood of Graham, North Carolina, who passed away on December 27, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Johns Rivers and Jennie Mae Wadell Rivers; her husband Captain Edward Wayne Norwood; and her siblings, Betsy Crumpton, Charlie "Bo", Raymond and Mackie Rivers.
She is survived by: her daughters, Theresa Arnette and Brenda Murphy (Mitch); her grandchildren, Edward Brian Hurdle (Gina), April Scott (Barry), Shane Murphy and Jonathan Murphy (Dana); her great grandchildren, Austin Hurdle (Lynsey), Alexis Hurdle (Norman), Sahir Murphy of Juel, Jace Murphy, Brittany Reed, Brianna Reed and Mykayla; and her brother Bobby Eugene Rivers (Sue). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her Church, The World Of Pentecost in Burlington, NC.
