He is survived by: his wife Brenda Fay Rudd; his grandchildren, Marty Dean Rudd, Jr. (Amanda), Kimberly Byrd Allison (Marty) and Brittany Byrd O'Dell (Johnathon); his great grandchildren, Brayden, Bryant Allison and Levi Sawyer Rudd; his son-in-law Boyd Byrd, Jr.; and his sisters, Patricia Norris, Hazel "Susie" Jefferson, Belinda Jones, Melody Jenkins (Fred), Anita Denny and Estherene Wilson.
