He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hilton and Flossie Hilton; and his siblings, Myrtle Boyd, Ed Hilton and Jack Hilton.
He is survived by: his wife Gwen; his daughters, Paula Lindsay (David) of New Bern, NC and Linda Cain (Doug) of Raleigh, NC; his brother-in-law Bill Passmore (Diane) of Gastonia, NC; his stepson Tommy Andrews of Myrtle Beach, SC; his daughter Julie Andrews; and his grandsons, Cameron and Christian Weiss of Burlington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Burlington, 400 South Broad Street, Burlington, NC 27215 or to the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 2250 Saddle Club Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
