He was predeceased by: his spouse Elois Williams Payne; his parents, Julius Nathaniel Payne and Mary McPherson Payne; and his brothers, Coy Lee Payne, Julius Norman Payne and Walter L. Payne.
He is survived by: his children, Vicky Payne Thompson (Arthur) of Graham and Dennis Mac Payne (Sandy) of Graham; his grandchildren, Chris Thompson (Sandi), Stacey Thompson Swidzinski (Sean), Heather Payne Collins (Dustin) and Holly Payne Mazejka (Luke); and his great grandchildren, Nicholas Arthur Thompson, Christopher Scott Thompson, Christian Grant Thompson, Hunter James Swidzinski, Halle June Swidzinski, Natalie Lee Collins, Payne Glenn Collins, Everett James Mazejka and Eli Mac Mazejka.
