He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Richard McIntyre and Ruth Blaylock McIntyre; and his siblings, Betty Hermansdorfer, Carl McIntyre and Kenneth McIntyre.

He is survived by: his sons, Todd McIntyre (Donna) of Goldston, NC and Kyle McIntyre (Lorie) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Jessica Moody (Peyton), Ashlyn McIntyre, Meagan Little (Wes), Christian McIntyre (Rachel), Cade McIntyre and Lucas McIntyre; his great grandchildren, Lincoln McIntyre and Carter Beth Little; and his siblings, Mark McIntyre of Burlington, Nancy Trent and Susan Baggett. He is also survived by nineteen nieces and nephews.
