She was predeceased by: her husband Reginald R. "Bud" Ward; her son Mark Allen Ward; her parents, Jobe Stevens and Ruth Stevens; and her siblings, Bob Stevens and June Parge.

She is survived by: her daughters, Pamela Ward Stone (Russell Stone Jr.) of Hickory, N. C. and Kerry Ward Jolly (W. Bion Jolly Jr.) of Elon; her grandchildren, Maurice Russell "Tripp" Stone III (Turquoise Lynette Stone), Jessica Lee Shugar (Paul Robert Shugar), Melissa Jeanne Stone, Meredith Lynn Jolly and Bion Cameron Jolly; and her great grandchildren, Mykah Kane Stone, Khloe Jade Stone, Hunter Ward Shugar, Jackson Paul Shugar, Caroline Cosette Shugar and Keaton Russell Shugar.
