She was predeceased by: her siblings, Jimmy Lyon, Betty Jo Hance and Janice Williams; her former husband Melvin Douglas Smith; her son Doug Smith; and her daughter-in-law Julie Holt.

She is survived by: her husband Michael Holt; and her sons, Mark Smith (Kimberly), Timothy Smith (Monica) and Michael Holt Jr.. She is also survived by 10 grand children and 6 great-grand children.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alamance Lutheran Church, 400 South NC Hwy 62, Alamance, NC 27201 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38205 or a memorial of your choice.
