He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Batten and Pearl Woodard Batten; his wife Sadie Batten; his son Rickey Batten Sr.; his great grandchild Hailie Freeze; and his siblings, Jack Batten and Linda Blackwell.

He is survived by: his children, Larry Batten and Lori Meeks (Junior); his daughter-in-law Carleen Batten; and his grandchildren, Kristy O'Baugh (Josh), Misty Freeze (Brad), Rickey Batten Jr., Larry Batten Jr., Kasey Hamilton (Robert), Jonathan Meeks and Adam Meeks. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
