He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Burke Austin; his parents, James Edgar Austin, Sr. and Ella Vay Jenkins Austin; his sister Amanda Austin Long; and his son-in-law Tommy Spoon.
He is survived by: his children, JoAnne Austin Spoon, Bobby Gene Austin (Jennia), Steven Allen Austin (Joan) and Terri Austin Albright (David); his grandchildren, Brandon Spoon (Kate), Micheal Austin (Diane), Lauren Austin Roberts (Josh), Amber Austin Mata (Oscar), Nicholas Webster and Bradlee Webster; his great grandchildren, Avery Spoon, Riley Spoon, Grant Spoon, Libby Spoon, Peyton Roberts, Preston Roberts, Holden Austin and Gavin Austin; and his brother Art Austin.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the New Covenant Fellowship Church (Rogers Rd, Graham, NC 27253). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
