He was predeceased by: his stepfather Jack Childers Hart, Sr.; and his brother Leslie Brent Starke. He is survived by: his brother Jack Hart; his friend Eunice Eckard; his sisters, Robbie Bostic and Mary Reaves (Jim); and also Chris Hart (Ruth). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 515 N. Marshall St. Graham, NC 27253.
