He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Edison Strickland and Cora Long Strickland; and his son James Christopher Strickland. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Loy Strickland; his children, Tiffany Strickland Murphy and Jeffrey Alan Strickland; his grandchildren, Megan Nicole Murphy, Alyssa Danielle Javadi (Kamran), Amanda Brooke Strickland, Christopher Jessie Strickland and Colton Thomas Strickland; his great grandchildren, Milyn, Cohen and Lemi; and his siblings, Marie Ireland, Ronald Strickland and Johnny Strickland.
