She was predeceased by: her siblings, Faye Gerringer, Pauline Watkins, John Jr., Don, Bill, Alvin and Graham Watkins.
She is survived by: her husband John David Melvin; her sons, Greg Melvin and Mike Melvin (Myra); her grandchildren, Charlie Melvin, Rachel Melvin, Caleb Sykes and Jacob Sykes; her sisters, Kina Blackwell and Linda; and her sisters-in-law, Elaine Watkins and Sylvia Watkins. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wicker Street Baptist Church at 512 Wicker St. Burlington, NC 27217.
