He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest James and Jewel Nunnery James; and his brothers, Frank James and Ron James. He is survived by: his spouse Melda Kay Brown James; his stepchildren, Melaina Hall (Billy) of Durham and Brian Bolden (P. J.) of Punta Gorda, FL; his sisters-in-law, Patsy James and Judy James; and his nieces and nephews, Blair and Jill. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren.
