He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay C. Harviel and Elizabeth Duncan Harviel; his brother Dr. J. Duncan Harviel; and his daughter Jolete Fuquay Harviel. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Long; his stepdaughters, Caroline Long and Charlotte Long Bryant (Charles); his daughters, Jennifer Jolete Harviel McGill (Jim) and Carrie Elizabeth Harviel Rawl (Les); his grandchildren, Andrew Harviel McGill, George Duncan Rawl, Margaret Elizabeth Rawl and Brandt Jackson Rawl; his stepgrandchildren, Jack McGill and Kate McGill; his nieces, Jennifer Cyrnak and Claire Buck (Matt); his great-nieces, Grace Gilroy, Beatrix Buck and Tabitha Buck; and also Beatrice Bryant.
