With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elmer Howard Merrill of Graham, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 5, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eslie Merrill and Roberta Banghart Merrill; his daughter-in-law Ellen Merrill; and his siblings, Karl Merrill, Alfred Merrill and Mary Lefler.
He is survived by: his wife Cecelia Ann Merrill; his children, Dr. Keith Merrill of Burlington, Gary Merrill (Melinda) of Efland, Debra King (Chip) of Graham and Wendy Bradshaw (Michael) of Oak Ridge; his grandchildren, David Merrill (Anna), Dr. Nicholas Merrill (Rebecca), T. J. Poole (Lina), Megan Poole, Bethany Roberts (Austin) and Devin Bradshaw; and his sister Alice Staats (Frank) of Oxford, NJ.. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Rich and Thompson Chapel (207 E Elm St, Graham, NC 27253). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
