He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Curtis Laughlin and Harriett Laughlin; his brothers, Timothy, Steve and Dennis Laughlin; his wife Sandra Laughlin; his daughters, Kerrie Laughlin and Tracey Laughlin Andrews; his son-in-law John Andrews; his granddaughter Harriett; his great grandchildren, Gabe, Justin and Mandy Scranton; his siblings, Ann (Dan Welsh), Peggy (Phil Lavelle), Pat (Judy Laughlin) and Larry (Diep Tran Laughlin); and also, Seamus, Maryjayne and Finnian.

Dave has requested donations, in Lieu of flowers, which can be made to Allied Churches of Alamance or SPCA of Alamance County.
