It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dale Ernest Caldwell of Graham, North Carolina, who passed away on April 1, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Patti Shankle Caldwell; and his parents, Hugh Caldwell and Nora Masters Nixon. He is survived by: his daughter Heather Hadley (Jacob); his granddaughter Erin Hadley; and his son Elliot Caldwell.

In lieu of flowers. Memorials may be made to Cradle of Forestry in America or National Parks Service.
