He was predeceased by: his father Bulo Leslie Carver; and his siblings, Herbert Carver, Sue Frisbee and Mary Ruth Davis. He is survived by: his children, John Richard Carver of Lakeworth, Vanessa Benefield of Old Fort, NC, Tammy Carroll Staub of Tuckerton and Susan Carver Smith of Marion, NC; and his sister Lois Scott of Canton, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
