It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steven Harvey Shafer Jr. (Goldsboro, North Carolina), born in Mason, Michigan, who passed away on March 22, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Steven Harvey Shafer, Sr. and Elouise Hasse Shafer; his daughter Sarah Elizabeth Shafer; and his siblings, Lila Shafer and Neil Shafer.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Carol Stevens Shafer; his children, Steven H. Shafer III (Heidi) of Winston-Salem and Selena Diann Miracle (Chris) of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Matthew R. Shafer (Meghan), Melody C. Shafer, Chance I. Miracle, Benjamin J. Shafer (Courtney), Ceara K. Zamago, Jenna M. Miracle, Emily C. Shafer and Marissa N. Miracle; his great grandchildren, Elliott I. Shafer, Clark A. Shafer and Caleb W. Shafer; and his siblings, Julie Wert, Jean Kaphan, Alma Fink, Teresa Shafer and Jim L. Shafer. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins he loved.
