He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Gardner and Edith Bowen Gardner; and his brother Charles H. Gardner. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Rye Gardner; his daughter Donna Gardner Kemp (David Kemp); his grandson Landon Gardner Case (Kyleigh); his great grandchildren, Ira Case and Aletta Case; and his siblings-in-law, Terri Gardner, John Rye (Martie), Terri Rye Davis (Johnny), Jennifer Rye Mills (Jerry) and Wilma Rye Shepard (Jimmy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
