He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gurganus and Madeline Gurganus; his wife Linda Pearsall Gurganus; and his grandson Cameron John Gerken. He is survived by: his daughters, Angie Lancaster (Brent) of Goldsboro and Debra Lewis (Christopher) of Pikeville; his grandchildren, Keli Gerken, Tyler Rowe (Brianna), Kati Gerken, Kourtni Gerken and Landon Lewis; his great grandchild Kasleigh; his granddaughter Brianna; his sister Darlene Massey (Anthony); his nieces, Erin and Elyse; and his great-nephew Carter.
