He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry R. Heller and Arline Heller; and his wife Joan T. Heller. He is survived by: his children, David R. Heller and Cindy Heller; his stepson Roby Fowler (Tisha); his brothers, David H. Heller (Cheryl) and Charles Heller; the mother of his children Pat Heller; and his friend John Hicks (JoAnn).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Richard's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Wayne County Animal Shelter.
