She was predeceased by: her mother Rachel T. Simmons; and her siblings, Virgie N. Coley, Leona Simmons and Johnny L. Simmons. She is survived by: her daughter Kesha S. Artis (Thad Artis III); her grandchildren, Quantiyana Lanika Simmons, Raheem Damarcus Artis and Tyquan Maliek Artis; and her siblings, Nancy E. Bunn, Marie Braswell of Goldsboro, NC, Bessie M. Jordan of Windsor Mill, MD, Wilbert Simmons Jr. of Clayton, NC and Billy Simmons (Bernice Simmons) of Goldsboro, NC.
